Melissa Scovell (she/them) is a young artist from Fribourg currently studying at the HSLU DFK. Over time she has grown fascinated with weird and the strange, particularly with what one calls the “inner weirdo”. She believes it to be the part of one’s self that never really grows up, that never really conforms but yet is still present within every human being. Through her instinctive and colorful practice, she allows her inner weirdo to surface. It sets the emphasis on deconstructing through and with the eyes in a playful yet repetitive manner, therefor confronting the viewer with the weirdness that they are constantly trying to repress. The practice of repetition is the key to your inner weirdo.
